In 2000, the ACFO Mille-Îles (ACFOMI) opened its French Employment Resource Center to undertake Employment Counsellor staffing with the necessary employability expertise and skills. On January 29, 2009, the ACFOMI became the first organization in the Kingston area to be designated under the French Services Statute towards employment programming. This is when we became known under the ACFOMI Employment Services and launched the ACFOMI services and programs. Indeed, the designated services are the ones provided by the ACFOMI Employment Services on behalf of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU). Thereby, the organization opted for a name that reflected more the reality and the available suite of services for both the French-speaking and the Anglophone communities.
